A
funny article on a serious legal battle between two wineries—Adler Fels Winery and Milano Family Winery—over the use of “Big Ass” in naming their wines. It’s hard not to laugh, but marketing and labeling play a large role in wine purchases.

One amusing story I’ve heard was Bonny Doon Vineyard was ready to release their “Cardinal Zin.” They had paid Ralph Steadman a lot of money to do the label artwork, however they had failed to check and see if anyone else had registered the name. Which (of course) someone else had done. Fortunately for Bonny Doon it was a local winery, whose owners were (and still are) extremely nice and let them use the name.
