Happy Birthday (more or less) Adam Smith

Adam Smith was baptized on this day in 1723. I did not realize he had been kidnapped by gypsies when he was four, but was quickly rescued. Thank goodness for all of us.

There is no known date for his birth, so today is the closest day we have to celebrate his birth. The Theory of Moral Sentiments and The Wealth of Nations still feel fresh today. Here’s wishing more people in power were familiar with their underlying messages.
