Mommy’s groups

We were lucky to move into an area that had a formal “mommy’s group.” This was sponsored by several agencies in the area and was open to any mother that had a child during the year. My wife joined the group and quickly found some other moms that she became good friends with. This smaller group began to meet informally and help each other out in a multitude of ways.

They definitely went above and beyond the call of duty when our second son was born. While we were at the hospital, these moms alternated taking care of our 2-year old, which meant unlimited play time with his friends. And for the first week after my wife came home from the hospital, we had dinner every evening delivered by a different mom from the informal group. Talk about a huge relief to have that taken care of for us!

The network of family and friends who have helped us out these past 2+ weeks has been a blessing that has helped us tremendously. Thanks to everyone!
